About CERP
15 Jan 2013, 13:09The CEPT Plenary decided to create CERP - the European Committee for Postal Regulation - under the umbrella of CEPT in October 1992. The first meeting of CERP took place on 10-11 November 1992.
The role of CERP is to examine postal regulatory affairs in a European context taking into account the changes in the borderlines between regulatory aspects and operational aspects in this domain. CERP will assess the influence of international regulatory policies in all CEPT countries and establish the necessary contacts with the European Union for postal regulatory area, with a view to developing a common approach to these issues.
Furthermore, CERP will establish and maintain relations with representatives of relevant international and national bodies and associations concerned with postal regulation issues, and develop proposals, where appropriate, based on the results achieved by its Working Groups.
