Com-ITU agrees ECP for the WTDC
25 Mar 2014, 14:00Com-ITU agreed European Common Proposals on the following issues:
First set agreed in January 2014
- Proposed new resolution on promoting ICTs to young women and men for social and economic empowerment;
- Proposed modification of Resolution 67 on the role of the Telecommunication Development Sector in child online protection;
- Proposed modification of Resolution 71 on the cooperation between member states and sector members within ITU-D in particular to include the involvement of academia;
- Proposed new Resolution on broadband communication in developing countries and consequential suppression or update of Resolutions 20, 43, 50 and 72.
- Proposed modification of the ITU-D Recommendation on ICT and climate change in response to Question 24/2.
Second set agreed in March 2014
- Proposed modification of Resolution 33 (Doha WTDC-06);
- Proposed modification of Resolution 73 (WTDC-10) on ITU centres of excellence;
- Draft Regional Initiatives – outcome of the RPM;
- Continuation of question 24/2 on ICT and Climate Change for the next ITU-D study period 2014-2018: European Common Proposal for a new ITU-D Question;
- Proposed Resolution on countering Numbers Misappropriation that complements WTSA Resolution 61;
- Proposed modifications to Resolution 9.
