The SE7 meeting took place on 11-14 January 2016 at ECO, Copenhagen, Denmark.
This meeting was dedicated to the resolution of comments received during the public consultation of the following ECC reports:
- ECC Report 243 on wireless video links in the frequency bands 2700-2900 MHz and 2900-3400 MHz
- ECC Report 245 on compatibility studies between PMSE and other systems/services in the band 1350-1400 MHz
The group also progressed in the drafting of the draft ECC Report on PMSE at 1492-1525 MHz.
Outcome of the SE7 meeting:
Resolution of comments after public consultation:
• ECC Report 243 on wireless video links in the frequency bands 2700-2900 MHz and 2900-3400 MHz
The public consultation for this ECC Report was open during the period 7 October 2015 – 9 December 2015. 9 organizations / administrations provided comments during that period: ANFR, BNetzA, PTS, The Netherlands, LFV, DFS, Eurocontrol, Ericsson and Dutchview. All comments, of different nature, could be solved during the meeting.
• ECC Report 245 on compatibility studies between PMSE and other systems/services in the band 1350-1400 MHz
The public consultation for this ECC Report was open during the period 7 October 2015 – 9 December 2015. 5 organizations / administrations provided comments during that period: ANFR, BNetzA, PTS, CRAF and Ericsson. All comments, of different nature, could be solved during the meeting.
For both reports, which contain similar PMSE characteristics, discussions during the meeting were focused on the adjustment of parameters and results of different studies performed, sometimes redoing simulations (e.g. Annex 10 in ECC Report 243), aligning PMSE parameters with respect to ECC Report 219 and re drafting the definition of body loss in PMSE transmission as used in these reports, among other topics.
A draft LS to FM51 was drafted in order to inform FM51 about the progress on these reports. Due to lack of time this draft LS was finalized after the meeting.
Progress on the draft ECC Report on PMSE at 1492-1525 MHz:
The meeting could do some progress in the drafting of this report. Nevertheless, there were some parts for which the meeting could not agree because of lack of time (in particular some parameters put forward in MSS studies, like the PMSE density and others). Therefore, it was considered premature to send it to WG SE for provisional approval and public consultation before these aspects are further discussed and agreed.
SE7 Chairman will present the document in its current status to WG SE and ask for a deadline extension for the finalization of the work by SE7 to solve the remaining issues.
Next meetings:
- 30 March – [31 March] or [1 April 2016] at ECO, Copenhagen, Denmark. The final decision on the duration of the meeting will be made after the WG SE meeting in January 2016.
