07 Nov 2016, 08:26

This CEPT Workshop on 5G was organised by the Electronic Communications Committee and took place over three days from 2-4 November 2016 at BNetzA, Mainz, Germany.

The aim of the workshop was to establish CEPT’s priorities for 5G, taking into account views from all stakeholders, including international organisations, standardisation groups, mobile industry and vertical industry members. Views on ongoing 5G developments outside Europe were also introduced.

It was a successful three days and a CEPT roadmap for 5G has been defined as a result of all the presentations and discussions. Among others, the roadmap addresses harmonisation, WRC-19 agenda item 1.13 preparation and vertical industry needs.

The workshop summary and roadmap are published here, and will be presented for the ECC meeting for consideration.

Further details, including the full programme and presentations, are available at the workshop webpage here.

Videos from the sessions are available here, and longer-form articles on the event will be available by the end of November 2017.
